I like doing certain types of crafts, such as needlepoint and detail painting sculpted lighthouses. I was on here searching for some art supplies for my Son who sketches and paints a lot when I saw the words "Diamond Painting" I had never heard of it, so I googled it and decided to give it a try. I got this 2 pack at a really good price and I found that I really enjoy it... Sometimes when I'm working on it, 2 hours will pass without me noticing. It's definitely not for everyone... It takes a lot of patience, is very precise and can sometimes feel tedious. I actually had to buy a pair of reading glasses to make sure I'm putting the right color beads on the Squares. The pictures are divided into very tiny squares that each have a letter in it which corresponds to a certain color bead/rhinestone. The picture is protected with a very clingy film, because the surface of the picture is covered in a pretty strong glue, so that once you press the bead onto the surface, it is firmly glued in place. Because of this, I work on mine in small sections at a time and carefully cut away the protective film as I finish each section. I count out the amount of beads I need for a certain letter and place them in the green tray provided. This is where patience is key, because before you can start applying the beads, they must all be in the tray with the flat side down. You then use the pen picker included and press it to the top of the bead, it will stick to the surface (it comes with a cube of a solid glue you press the pen into when it stops picking up beads) Using the pen, you position the bread over the correct square, set it down then press with moderate pressure and I haven't had one single bread so much as move an inch. This particular picture is made up of VERY small squares, so you have to be really Careful that you lay it down just right. It sounds like more trouble than it's worth but for some reason, I REALLY enjoy it. I find it almost therapeutic. And now that I'm done a decent size portion of the picture, I can see how gorgeous and eye catching the finished product will be. I'm going to finish a few for Christmas Presents. I'm not done my 1st one yet, but all the reviews I've read confirm you're provided with everything you need to complete it (including more than enough beads) When you're done, you're supposed to frame it but you take the glass out of the picture frame and you have a breathtaking 3D picture that I can tell is going to look great on any wall.Gave as a gift. The girl was thrilledThis is a matching pair of diamond painting projects that will look great together when finished. They arrived in a clear plastic bag, with no exterior packaging showing the finished product. Not a deal breaker, as it's pretty easy to suss out from just unrolling it. It may not look pretty as a gift due to this, but if someone really likes diamond painting, they may not care. Each painting is individually bagged inside, with the canvas, pen, wax, holder, and a running plastic strip of bags of diamond pieces. They are not in resealable bags - be aware of this and ready with a holder or your own bags to be ready when you start the project. For the price point, this is as expected and will be an enjoyable family project.Seemed like there were far too many unusable drills either super small, or chunks. They sent plenty of drills, so never ran out. Nice gifts I made for special people. EnjoyIt’s a nice set of paintings but it’s really hard to buy frames to fit. If I do find them the frame covers the words or they are expensive. Not enough colors given to complete DisappointingI didn’t dislike anythingCan't wait to do these for my best friendI have only completed one of these canvases so far (Starry Night), although I did receive both pictures.First - the good. The images are as shown, drills are mostly good quality & I have experienced no drill popping as yet. All the drills arrived pre-packed in snaplock bags, which was fabulous...however it would have been nice if they'd been labelled with the same number as was on the canvas! Then - the bad.The canvases were folded when posted, so arrived badly creased. Ironing didn't remove all the creases. This only improved due to the weight of the drills flattening the canvas out when completed.Areas of Starry Night had no adhesive and I had to attach the drills with glue. This wasn't a large area but, to be honest, there should be no areas like this at all. I am unsure if the other canvas is the same.Starry Night was relatively easy to read but the river canvas is so poorly printed that I am unable to read it. This is because many of the letters are black on a dark background and are unreadable. I will have to use a light pad along with a magnifying glass to read it.Finally, the river canvas was badly hacked when cut from the canvas roll and will need tidying up when framed. Not a big deal but a little care goes a long way.I love the finished result of Starry Night and I will attempt the other canvas once I have a better way of seeing the canvas while I'm working. I just wish some of the negatives weren't there. These are a bit challenging but turn out great since they are a decent size. I would have preferred square drill but these round drills are well made and very uniform in size so still nice.J'ai aimé le produit. ParfItThe canvas was perfect and the drills amazing, lovely packaging as well. Will be back to buy more, Happy New Year!
